Set, Relax and take a deep breath.

Whats' so special about Christmas?

All over the world business, offices, stores, they will all be closed.

Not many people on the highway. We even split our calendar by this date. 2000 yrs ago.

All this in anticipation of one event. The birth of Jesus Christ.

Tonight we'll find out three truths to Chirstmas.

  • The Determination of Jesus Chirst.
  • The Dedication of Jesus Christ.
  • The Declaration of Jesus Christ.

We can sum up Christmas in one sentence.

  • God became a man!
  • I thought we were talking about Jesus
    • Manger
    • Wise men
    • Camels

Jesus Christ is God!

1. The Determination

Slide:

Colossians 1:15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.

16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.

NKJV

Notice what that verse says, He is the image of God

  • He is the exact image.
  • He didn't start in the manger.
  • Began His ministry there.
  • He alway's was and alway's will be.

The bible say's "He became like man and was born a human being."

  • I would have done it different.
  • But God had another idea.
      • He came into the world like everyone else. He was born into it.
      • He was every bit a human.
        • Palistinian Jew
        • Worked in carpenters shop.
        • Got hungry.
        • Felt tired.
        • Indured pain.
            • He knows your pain.

Jesus Christ, God was Determined to share Christmas with you.

2. Dedication

Slide:

Philippians 2:6 who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God,

7 but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.

8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.

NKJV

  • Even to the point of death.
  • Before you knew Him.
  • Before you called for Him.
  • Before you even liked Him.
      • He made Himself no reputation.
      • He came because you needed Him. Before you even knew it, He knew you.

Slide:

1 John 3:5 And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin.
